Senator Danny Verdin is a proven, trusted conservative leader in Columbia who works to preserve South Carolina’s culture, reject the woke-chaos, and make South Carolina better off for today’s citizenry and tomorrow’s generations.

Pro-Life

As a father and grandfather, Danny knows that all children are a gift from God, and he absolutely supports protection for the unborn. As a Senator, Danny has co-sponsored 30 pieces of pro-life legislation including the Heartbeat Bill and Personhood Bill and passionately defends life. At the same time, Danny also works hard to make raising children more affordable by supporting faith-based, family-supportive community organizations, by fighting to reduce costs and lower taxes, and by strengthening the economy to provide higher paying jobs.

Second Amendment

Danny fully supports the Second Amendment and the rights of gun-owners to protect their families and property. Danny believes the overall safety of the community is strengthened and benefitted by responsible, well-defended individuals. Danny also believes that hunting and fishing must be protected as an important part of our cultural tradition, and that the natural resources we enjoy must be preserved as we teach the next generation how to properly engage in those activities.

Law Enforcement 

Danny supports the rule of law and supports efforts to give our law enforcement agencies the training and resources they need to keep our citizens safe, and foster good relationships within their communities. Criminals must be put on notice that they cannot expect to be given easy sentences from weak judges. Danny believes peace and prosperity for all South Carolinians depends on officers and citizens believing in and living by the principles of mutual respect and personal responsibility.

Education

Because a well-educated workforce is the key to a strong economy, Danny is committed to reforming our public education system to make sure tax dollars are spent on students, not bureaucrats; that good teachers are rewarded; that parents’ voices are heard; and that classroom discipline is enforced. Our students need resources and the best environment possible to foster robust academic and educational opportunities, not to be hijacked as a vehicle to advance a woke political agenda. Danny partners with parents and educators in that pursuit.

Marriage & Family

As a Christian, Danny understands that the institution of marriage can only be entered into by one man and one woman. Gender is acknowledged at birth based on biology, physiology, common sense and on Biblical truth as outlined in Mark 10. Danny will never waver on these principles and will ever promote the natural order of male and female, marriage, and the home. These are the building blocks of a healthy and thriving society, and our state has a duty to protect these values. Also, Danny has stood to protect our children from exposure to sexual deviance in all forms, and will fight to protect our daughters from men invading their private space.

Agribusiness

Agribusiness remains our state’s largest industry. As former chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee from 2007-2018, ranking member and recipient of numerous awards from the agriculture and business sectors, Danny knows the financial, environmental, and political challenges that today’s farmers are facing. With his experience as a local farmer, Danny is working to protect our farmers from needless burdensome regulation and for legislation that encourages consumption of locally sourced products.

Immigration

Danny voted to ban so-called sanctuary cities and he fully supports the efforts to control our international borders. For the sake of our nation’s security and economic prosperity, it’s imperative that we enforce the rule of law in our country. Danny welcomes all those who legally immigrate into our wonderful country seeking to reap the benefits and contribute to the preservation of our nation’s freedom, safety, and prosperity.

Transparency

Danny supports creating an online, searchable database of not only state government, but also all local government expenditures, as well, so every taxpayer can see exactly how their money is being spent. Danny wants to keep the government small and out of your pocket. That means he constantly works to reform "Big Government" programs by eliminating waste, reducing spending, and decreasing regulations. Danny believes mutual trust between those who govern and those who are governed should be built on honesty, transparency, and accountability.
